Cecina and Chorizo production (two typical Spanish types of salami) has been, for a long time, the main source of income in Candelario. This type of building was created for curing these types of salami, which were hang in the attic, with the windows opened.

Candelariotown lays on the mountainside of the Candelario mountain range. Its position conditions the lay-out of its streets: the main ones follow the slope, whilst the secondary ones cut these.
This chapel located at the entrance of the village, was constructed in the 16th Century and has an archade in the front, supported by four columns. The most important element in the chapel is the altarpiece with Christ's image, which is highly devoted by the citizens of Candelario.
