Nuestra Señora de la Asunción church is the current parish temple of Chinchon. Its construction was finalised in 1626 by the best masters of that period, those which had worked in El Escorial. The temple was looted several times: the final destination of the religious paints and sculptures that disappeared still remains unknown. Inside the church, it is possible to enjoy one of Goya's paintings, La Asunción de la Virgen de San Francisco, which was donated by Goya to this town of Chinchón.
