The cathedral is, with no doubt, the most important religious monument. It began to be constructed sometime around 1165 to 1169, just after Fernando II de León had reinstalled his episcopal see. It has three entrance doors, with a Romanesque interior in transition towards Gothic. The stalls, made by Rodrigo Alemán, are the most important element inside the cathedral, which are considered to have the same value than those of the cathedrals of Plasencia and Zamora.
