When
"Augusta Emerita" city was projected, one of the main problems to be solved
was how to provide the city with fresh water. The Romans solved the problem
applying two different solutions. On the first hand, building reservoirs,
on the other, canalising several springs towards the city. As a result
several, reservoirs (Proserpina, Cornalvo, etc.) and aqueducts (Milagros,
Rabo de Buey-San Lázaro and Cornalvo) can be visited nowadays. |
