Near
the fortress, situated in the most elevated point of the promentory which extends
to the streets and squares, the houses and the church of a town created around
the bastion and near the military fortication. All turns around the castle and
is orientated towards it. The hills, which are obligatory, are saved by ramps
and steps. The houses and the streets are characterized by this so intense white
of the traditional and popular construction of the Mediterranean coast.
From
one side to the other of the city, two beautiful beaches extend, one of which, protected
by the breakwater which protects the small fishing port, is orientated to the
South. That which is orientated to the North and East constitutes a beautiful
beach which is prolonged to the neighbouring village of Benicarló (five
Km.). The agreeable mildness of the climate, as much in summer as in the other
seasons allows one to enjoy the delights of the sun and of clean and temperate
waters.
